Following the Government guidance on Corona Virus (COVID-19) regarding non-essential contact, we have taken the difficult decision to close our church building. Our services take place via various online platforms. Please email or phone for further details.
Gift Aid relief in respect of small cash donations: the closure of church buildings during the Corona Virus lockdown might have resulted in a loss of gift aid relief on small cash donations (not exceeding £30) which would normally have been placed on the weekly offering plate but HMRC has responded to a request for flexibility during this period. When such gifts are eventually ‘made up’ and result in a total gift exceeding £30 they will qualify for relief provided the treasurer is satisfied. Example - a note could be included in the envelope containing the delayed contributions stating that the amount represents offerings of £x per week for y weeks or by their being included in separately dated envelopes.
We are a small fellowship of about 35 people, which enjoys spending time together. We worship on Sunday mornings at 10.30am in the church and have a mixed style of worship, integrating the old with the new. In our services you will find this variety. We sometimes like to laugh and be noisy, but also sing hymns and choruses, are silent for a while, listen to God's word, and pray to God as we reflect on ourselves and the world.
The first Sunday of each month (apart from August) is Messy Church where everyone joins together briefly before those getting 'messy' go to the School Hall for the activities. Those not getting 'messy' remain in the church for an informal Bible Study.
We meet at:
49 High Road
Bedford MK45 3AA
There is parking available on the site.
You can expect a warm welcome, great worship and a friendly bunch of people gathering to learn more about God.
We have a fantastic Sunday morning programme for children at Cotton End Baptist Church. Activities involve music, dance, drama, stories, crafts, fun and much more. We meet at 10.30 in the church, joining with everyone else for the first part of the service then the children go in to the "School Hall" for their own activities.
Tots (0 months to 3 years):
There is a corner beside the entrance to the worship area available with seating and quiet toys for parents and young children. There is no crèche facility but a room is available with a video link for parents who wish to take their little ones under 3 from the worship service to a more private space. This is in the vestry accessible through the main worship area.
